Catbeard the Pirate is a comic that was inspired by my late cat, Tiger. She was extremely affectionate, and she used to like to crawl up on my chest to sleep. On one such occasion, while watching Mystery Science Theater 3000 (or maybe Rifftrax) with a friend, I squeezed her against my face, saying “Look, a kitty beard!” He responded with “Catbeard, the pirate!” and inspiration struck like a bolt of lightning. I’ve never looked back. I hope you’ll enjoy reading Catbeard as much as I have enjoyed writing and drawing it.
