So yeah, this is the second anniversary of Catbeard the Pirate! Not really sure what to say here. This still isn’t technically the longest comic I’ve ever drawn, but it is definitely the one I’ve ever done the most work on. It’s certainly the only one I ever managed to collect into a book. It’s also easily the most fun I’ve ever had drawing a comic. Catbeard is really a blast.

I have lots of plans for Catbeard this year; ninja, tiki men, more Templeton, and coming soon to a Kickstarter near you: BOOK TWO! Yeah baby, book two is coming, with more exclusive content, more pages, more of everything you loved in the first book. This one’ll even have a spine title on it, I swear.

Anyway, hope you enjoy this little dabbling in watercolor! It’s got a few flaws, one of which is my scanner, which is not great for color, another of which is poor One-Eared Bill, who got a heavier dose of pigment than I intended and I couldn’t pull it back, and of course I’m just starting out in watercolors again. But still, I had fun drawing it! If I have time this weekend maybe I’ll try to rescan it and tweak it more.

Regardless, I’d like to thank all of my readers for showing up every week, and everyone who tells their friends and family to read Catbeard! It’s really awesome when I hear about or meet people who love the comic. I appreciate it so much.

Onward to year three!

See you all next Wednesday!
