One of the difficulties that I often find myself running into with Catbeard is a certain “sameness” in the kind of clothing that pirates wore. While you can adjust this for a character’s own personal flair (and I try to), I usually find the best bet I have for making a pirate memorable is his or her face. Here’s a few doodles I did in my Catbeard sketchbook of pirate faces (and one full-body shot that I rather liked), who may or may not show up in the comic.

Please be sure to come back Wednesday for a new guest comic!
